Community Hospital Services launches customer Web site
03/22/2006
SAGINAW – Community Hospital Services, a non-profit central laundry that provides linen and other
related services to its member and associate member hospitals at a cost near to break-even, recently launched its first customer Web site. With the objective of exceeding customers’ expectations through prompt reliable service, the company introduced the Web site to advance customer understanding of its commitment to service and improved service offerings.
“Our staff—management team and 36 full-time union employees—produces more than 10 million pounds of linen service each year—or 110-120 pounds of linen per operator hour each and every day,” said Raymond Zolinski, Community Hospital Services president. “We capably produce this quantity of linen because of our investment in both people and state-of-the-art equipment.”
In 2005, Community Hospital Services added a tunnel washer system to its facilities. Zolinski said that equipment, along with updated folders, significant updates in the company’s soil sort department and computers throughout the plant, means linen is more efficiently processed and member hospitals recognize greater value-added services.
“Our investment in people and our state-of-the-art equipment directly affects our customers—we offer fair, competitive pricing on a quality product that exceeds customer needs,” said Zolinski. “The Web site helps our customers to know that improving patient care is the goal Community Hospital Services and our member hospitals share.”
